What is SoundExchange?

SoundExchange is a company that collects digital performance rights from non-interactive music streaming on internet sources – ex. SiriusXM and Pandora.

To get more information on SoundExchange, feel free to check out their FAQ.

Who can InterSpace Distribution represent on SoundExchange?

InterSpace Distribution can collect SoundExchange royalties on behalf of sound recording owners and rightsholders.

Can Symphonic collect the artist/featured artist portion of SoundExchange?

No. Only the artists/players themselves can handle the artist collection. SoundExchange doesn’t allow any third parties (labels, distros, aggregators) to claim any portion of that revenue.

If you want to start an account to collect your artist portion, contact SoundExchange here.

What territories are covered?

The US is SoundExchange’s strongest territory, but InterSpace Distribution now offers Neighboring Rights collection through SoundExchange if you want to collect monetization for additional territories.
